Taman Ujung Palace

Ujung Karangasem Park was built by Karangasem king I Gusti Bagus Jelantik, who was titled Anak Agung Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. Initially the area was nearly 400 hectares, but now only about 10 hectares. Most of the land has been distributed to the people during the land reform era. This park is a private property of the Karangasem Puri family. But general visitors are allowed to visit it.

Taman Ujung was built in 1909 on the initiative of Anak Agung Anglurah. The architect was a Dutchman named van Den Hentz and a Chinese named Loto Ang. This development also involves an undagi (traditional Balinese architect). Taman Ujung is actually the development of the Dirah pond which was built in 1901. The construction of Taman Ujung was completed in 1921. In 1937, Taman Ujung Karangasem was inaugurated with a marble inscription inscribed with script in Latin and Balinese script and in two languages, Malay and Balinese.
